In our school, to generate general funding, apart from agriculture, we raise some pigs for sale. We have two small pig pens which are close to our school compound. The pigs are taken care by our students. We feed them twice a day. The students take turn to feed them. We use the left-over food and some vegetables to nourish them. They grow fast both in size and weight. Sometimes, some pigs even give birth. In this condition, we don’t need to buy new pigs when the old ones are sold out. But raising baby pigs is hard, so we don’t usually allow them to give birth in the pens. By raising pigs, we do believe that our students can raise their own pigs when they left school or whenever they want to. We want all our students to be good in every fields.
