Mg Kaung Htet
My name is Mg Kaung Htet and I am 18 years old. I am the only child. Currently, my parents are working at Mae Sot, Thailand as migrant workers. In 2010, my parents moved to Thailand to get a better job for family income, so I also came along with them that I stopped my education in Myanmar. However, my parents did not give up my education easily. They did many contacts and asked information to get a chance for me to continue my education in Mae Sot, Thailand. Finally, I got contact with New Blood School which mainly focus on children who are moving along with their parents to give opportunities for their education.
In New Blood School, I studied from Grade-4 again and till Grade-10. I have lived and studied at here for nearly eight years as a dormitory student. I have learnt many things in New Blood School which teach me not only academic skills but also social skills. Since it is a migrant school there are many children from different background and ethnic, so I have leant how to communicate adaptively. Because of every summer program, I have studied both English skills in writing, reading, and listening and computer typing and fundamental computer skills. I spent my summer holidays efficiently in New Blood School.
In 2016-2017 academic year, I failed in matriculation exam. However instead of giving up, I studied more and hardly in next academic year. Then I passed with total score 321 out of 600 for matriculation.
I am very pleased to the headmaster, headmistress and all teachers from New Blood School who take care and led to me to get a place in higher continuing education for my future. Now I have found the first step of my higher education in university, so I have decided to study and attend English major which is my interested subject as a distance education in university. The reason I want to study distance education instead of day education is that I want to help my school, New Blood, as much as I can for children who are suffering same situation like me.
